Change Icon of a install app/game in Nokia s40 phones

Recently I found a amazing trick to change the icon of a installed app or game.
I have tested it in  Nokia s40 phones, please try on other phones and reply if works or not.
     We all know how to change the icon of a java app before installing it.
We just have to open the java archive and replace the png icon.
    But in case of install apps we cannot open then as a archive file. So that way it will not work.
       But I noticed that after installing a app or game the phone automatically creates a hidden folder with a name like abc_private, where abc is the name of that app. And this folder contains a icon that can have any name.
      The noticeable thing is that this icons are always in  .png format into the app. But after installing the app it adds .icn at end of .png   
       So we have to replace this .png.icn icon with another icon.
     As this folder is hidden, we need a file manager that can see hidden folders.
        I like to use mini commander in this case. Open mini commander and navigate to the folder where the app or game is installed. There you will see the folder with a name  
(app name _private). Inside this folder you will see a icon, but it can not be opened in mini commander. 
      Now highlight the icon and hold 6 key for a few seconds. It will open the rename box. There copy the full name of the icon. And press  ok. 
Then in other window of mini commander open the folder where you desired icon is. Rename it with the name you copied before.
      Then press 5, it will ask to copy the icon in another window where the app icon folder is opened , press OK.
If it says the file is already exists press 1 to overwrite.
    Okay you are done. Close mini commander and go to the installed app or game . You will see its icon has changed.

How to - Create a secret partition on a pen drive

There is no way you can partition USB pen drives. They show up as a removable drive on the PC. In order to do so, you need to trick the operating system into recognizing the USB pen drive as a fixed hard drive. To do this, you will need to create your own set of drivers. In this workshop, we shall demonstrate just that. Doing so, you can create multiple partitions and store your private data on it. Only the first partition will be visible, and the other partitions will not show up on any other PC, but your own.

This way, you can store your personal data away from your friends and family, and also you can avoid viruses affecting this data when plugged in on another computer. To do this, all you need is a simple universal USB pen drive driver, which can be downloaded from ‘here’. Download the archive, uncompress it to a folder on your desktop and get started. Don’t forget to backup the contents of your pen drive, as it will format it.

Step 1: Plug in your pen drive into your PC’s USB port. Next, right-click on ‘My Computer’ and click on ‘Manage’ in the context menu. Click on ‘Device Manager’ on the left pane. This will show all the hardware devices connected to your PC. Now, on the right pane, scroll down to ‘Disk Drives’ and you should see your pen drive connected here. Right-click on the pen drive and select ‘Properties’.

Step 2: In the properties window that just opened, click on the ‘Details’ tab. From the scroll down menu under ‘Property’, choose ‘Device Instance Path’. You should see a string of characters highlighted in the ‘Value’ window below, which should read something like ‘USBSTORDISK&VEN_&PROD…..’ Right-click on this value and select ‘Copy’. Now close all the windows without saving changes.

Step 3: Now open the folder that you uncompressed after downloading the universal USB flash drive driver. In this folder, find and open the file named ‘cfadisk.inf’ in ‘Notepad’ or any test editor you prefer (Notepad++ is ideal to be used here’ (download from ‘notepad-plus-plus.org’).

  

Step 4: Now locate the words ‘device_instance_id_goes_here’, which is available on line 26. You need to replace these words with the string you just copied to the clipboard from the Device Manager. Save the file and close the editor.

This tricks will be very helpful for those who frequently install windows xp operating system. Normally OS installation takes around 40 minutes to complete, But through this trick you can save 10-15 minutes.

Use this step by step guide....

1. Boot through Windows XP CD.

2. After all the files are completely loaded, you get the option to select the partition. Select “c”.

3. Now Format the partition, whether it is normal or quick with NTFS or FAT

4. Once the formatting is completed, All the setup files required for installation are copied. Restart your system by pressing Enter.

Now, here begins the Simple trick to save 10-15 minutes.

5. After rebooting, you get a screen where it takes 40 minutes to complete or finalize the OS installation.

6. Now, Press SHIFT + F10 Key -> This opens command prompt.

7. Enter “Taskmgr” at the command prompt window. This will open Task Manager.

8. Click the Process Tab, here we find a process called Setup.exe -> Right Click on Setup.exe -> Set Priority -> Select High or Above Normal. Initially it will be Normal.

Microsoft’s SQL Server 2012 Gets Launched on March 7th

The company has just announced an online event on March 7th, 2012, set to stand for the virtual launch of SQL Server 2012. 

Microsoft partners will be present at the event as well, the same as some of the company’s most notable customers.

Galaxy Nexus India launch postponed to March

The latest Googlephone, the Galaxy Nexus is yet to make its debut in India with many potential consumers eagerly anticipating its release. Back in December, it was reported that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was slated for a January launch , after already being pushed back from a possible December release date . The reason for the delay, cited by Samsung was that there were many product launches in December; hence the brand had decided to delay the product from hitting the shelves. As per a Twitter post from Samsung India in reply to a comment by one of their followers, the company states,“Nexus is expected to be launched in March but we do not have the exact dates. Will update you once we get that information.”So one can expect the handset not to be launched officially any time this month.

One should not get their hopes too high, though as the brand does not confirm this information as anything concrete, with Samsung in a follow up tweet stating that,“We do not have the exact dates. So would update you about the same once we get more information.”The official registration page of the handset does not seem to be updated; with the status still reading‘Coming Soon.’

As of now, this is still the only handset that is launched with Android Ice Cream Sandwich onboard, but with the Mobile World Conference just around the corner; one would expect Samsung to launch the follow up to the highly successful Galaxy S II, which is the S III at the event. The popular Bittorrent indexer The Piratebay announced yesterday that they would switch the position of torrent andmagnet link download links on the website in order to save bandwidth. Many media sites reported that The Piratebay would be dropping torrents altogether, but that is not true. While it is still possible to download torrent files directly from the site, most users will probably click on the first download link they see that is not advertisement, and that loads the magnet link instead.

If you have never heard about magnet links before I suggest you check out What Is A Magnet Link And How Does It Differ From Torrents?. For those in a hurry: A magnet link is a hypertext link that contains information that the torrent client can use to find the data to download.

Downloaders should not experience many issues when they switch from torrents to magnet links. It may take longer before the client begins the download, but that is about it.

Another issue is that without access to the torrent file, you cannot use it in a program likeTorrific which turns torrents into direct http downloads.

What most users do not know is that their torrent client will actually save a torrent file once the magnet link has been added to the client and the download has been started.

Users of the popular uTorrent client can for instance open the %appdata%\Roaming\uTorrent\ directory to find all torrent files listed in that directory. Torrents only appear here once the client has started downloading the file, and not before.

Having to start to download the files to get the torrent link is not an optimal solution, but it seems to be the only option at this point in time. Maybe someone will create a program in the future that downloads only the torrent file, for now, that’s not possible
